Our Peace Pantry came about by witnessing the issue of food inequity, particularly within the community near the San Jose Peace and Justice Center office in Downtown San Jose. The Pantry was built by a volunteer and donated to the Center as a mutual aid effort. It is based on a regenerative community care model where people are able to take what they need and leave what they can.
